The Social Planning Council is a non-profit society founded in 1969, dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in our community. The main funder for social planning services is the City of Vernon so the scope of day-to-day activities is within the geographic boundaries of the City of Vernon. On occasion, the society will partner with the Regional District for the North Okanagan to work on projects that encompass the North Okanagan region.
The Social Planning Council acknowledges that the geographical scope of their work is within the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Syilx Nation
